The View From the Fourth Floor

So, you ask, how does it feel to be 40? Less hung over than it should by all rights, thanks to Chaser. Thanks also to László Jakab Orsós, new director of the New York Hungarian Cultural Center (which sorely needs a better web site), for hosting a great party last night on the penthouse terrace of his Battery Park City apartment overlooking the Statue of Liberty and allowing me to unwittingly usurp it as my unscheduled birthday party.

Sorry about leaving you the cleanup after the water balloon fight. Props to Aron for outputting some funky compressed audio algorithms, as per usual. Gratitude also to all last night’s beautiful people for helping me make the decade hop as gracefully as possible (who thought to bring Champagne?). Incalculable love to my most lovely wife for so much of everything. And special thanks to Masha K. in SF for providing great perspective, a highly valued gift.

So how does it feel? Better than the alternative.

Boldog (belated) sz?let?snapot, Rick! You’ve just established a new way to measure the frequency of returning visitors. I’ll try the same on my blog in August :)
You might have some hid spare-tyres, but your wife still looks gorgeous. You love her well!
